1995 Print Exhibition
The Gallery, Falmouth College of Art, Falmouth (Japanese Connection 95)
As a part of the event ‘Japanese Connection 95’, Imada created an installation and prints. Music for the installation was composed by Warwick Thompson who is now a renowned opera critic.
Ballet has always been an art form which has excited Imada; she find the connection between music and movement fascinating.she has been exploring this connection, and its link with the visual arts in her work.
It was a sensational moment when she realized that she could relate her ideas about music and movement to her brush-stroke and so interpret the world of ballet in her art work. Learning to control a brush requires much training and experience, but this is art only at its technical level. To bring it alive, the artist has to put oneself into the world one wants to interpret, and combine one’s own feeling towards the subject with the brush-stroke every moment that one uses the brush.
